I joined the Sorella race team in January 2020. I was incredibly excited to be a part of a team….gatherings, group rides, races. Then the pandemic began. Races canceled, gatherings and group rides were out of the question. Roll into 2021 and things were possibly looking better. I couldn’t have been happier when the team picked a weekend to stay in a couple beautiful cabins provided by our sponsor, Escape to Blue Ridge.

I was finally able to put faces with names for several of my teammates. I loved this. Everyone would start the day making breakfast together. Then it was off to bike as a team through the blue ridge mountains. Honestly, my favorite part of each day was gathering on the porch to snack and talk and dinners together in the dining room. Laughing, eating and getting to know each other. I’m smiling as I type this. It was wonderful.

The cabins were perfect and beautiful. Open gathering places for everyone to relax and hang out. Plenty of rooms for everyone to have a comfortable night’s sleep. We can’t thank you enough Escape to Blue Ridge for making this happen for us.

I was a little nervous and excited about the Sorella race team get away in Blue Ridge. When I arrived, I was greeted with kindness and immediately felt comfortable. Everyone was incredibly nice and relaxed. No one was pretentious, only welcoming and warm. The cabin provided a perfect place for us to gather and relax in comfort while getting to know each other. I had so much fun, I didn’t want to leave on Saturday! Big thank you to Escape to Blue Ridge for giving us this amazing opportunity.
