About this event
3 Gap. We've Got you! Have you ever wanted to climb in the mountains, train for the iconic 3 Gap/ 6 Gap Century or simply improve your fitness and skills through climbing? Come join Karin Jessop and Christina Panellla in a supportive environment that will give you the confidence and skills to accomplish your goals and enjoy the mountains. This will be a progressive monthly series to ensure confidence and competence.
Club Members, non-members and Sorella Fellas, welcome.
Ride Purpose: Create a nurturing environment to do scary and intimidating things in the mountains. Establish a monthly ride in The Gaps to develop the skills and fitness needed to complete the 3 Gap / 6 Gap ride on Sunday September 27th. https://runsignup.com/Race/GA/Dahlonega/SixGapCentury
Level: SPICY (due to climbing) will regroup at the top of each climb and bottom of each descent. Will help those uncomfortable with descending get comfortable by following the wheel, etc, as needed.
Distance, elevation, avg speed: Will start with 35 miles, 4,000 ft climbing. Speed will vary 8 - 15MPH. Will eventually extend to the official 50 route during training. Will also plan longer options.
Ride needs: Road bike, 2 bottles - 1 carb mix and 1 water plus nutrition for 3 hours. 2 bathroom stops and 1 store stop on route.

This ride will start from the Rock Pile at base of Woody Gap climb on Hwy 60. There is limited parking both before and after the Rock Pile on the side of the road.
